Well, I had to un-delete my journal to tell everyone this! Couldn't think of another way to let you all know.

James asked me to marry him!

He asked me on my birthday, 4 days ago!!!! The ring- is his grandmother's ring, very beautiful! We are going to get it fitted soon. I am still in shock. This summer really couldn't have gone any better.

We have not set a date yet, but we are thinking of early June, after school lets out for the summer, and before James starts his clinical rotations.

Yay!

I'm proud to say that I am the new Librarian at Central Elementary School in Bristol TN! I had an interview on Wednesday, they looked at my portfolio, and called be back thursday morning.

Yes, indeedy, they finally caught me. Central Elementary is a K-6 school of 200 kids and 11 teachers. I don't know where to begin, I'm so excited and of course nervous. Now I can finally start to focus on what I am going to teach those little ones rather than worrying about getting a job.

In other news, it looks like Tamora Pierce is appearing at the NCTE conference in Nashville in October. Very awesome, I think I'll have to go! She's also appearing at the ALA conference in New Orleans. I wish I could go to that but atm I am very much broke. I'll have more money next year.

Well... its that time...
Making a friends only entry :)

Well... it appears I'm back again. (for a limited time, like the mcrib?) Not sure long I'll be here, but I've done a little editing to clean this place up a bit. Will be trimming down friends and stuff. We'll see :)

I have an interview tomorrow, however, its 1 hour away. I keep telling myself its for the experience.

Holy Shit guys. http://www.cnn.com

Which might not work, because none of the news sites are working now.... I finally got into http://www.usatoday.com

Dad left for California yesterday. Mom talked to him last night.

I'm speechless actually.
I got to British Literature and people started to filter in. First it was one thing, then the rest. Professor Shellist just said "Oh hell, we can't have class like this" and dismissed us.

Write. Write about this.

¡Ah! ¡Qué una noche!

May 3rd, 2001 (12:13 pm)

Um....I'm bored.

Vote for Steelsings! We may not be on the list now, but you should go there and vote for us once its there! Remember when we did the Site Fights? Well, this doesn't require effort.
Which reminds me, if anyone wants to try entering Steelsings in the site fights (or something to the like), they can be Steelsings Campaign manager....

You got to go to the lonesome valley

The Lives of Emily...

My social life: Evolves around Leslie and SAI. I don't know if I fit in SAI, there are a few girls I really admire for not really participating in the whole "lets tell everyone about our sex history" little game. Like Dorothy...I wish she wasn't leaving for Europe next semester because she and I have alot of things in common. She's into the whole fantasy and Sci fi genre, Star Wars and stuff. I really want to get to know her better.
My School Life: Other than band, it stinks. Have no friends in any of my classes, am miserable when I'm in class. I have nobody to motivate me, to study with me because I cannot talk to most of these people. I'm not interested in them, and they're not interested in me. I live alone in all of these classes, except for western civ where I talk to this girl named Heather who is really nice.
My Love life: Is this a joke?
My home life: Unchangable. I have a good relationship with my parents, but they are overprotective, and they must know where I am going each time I leave the house, and with whom I am going to go with. They've let me live on campus next year, which, I am very excited about.
My Online life: Is wonderful. I wish I could bring you guys into this life, and plant you right across the street so we could hang out all the time. Meanwhile the site is thriving, everything is going great.

Yesterday was the last day of classes. I have 4 exams. Yeah, they're coming up sometime soon. The first one being thursday. Bugger.
Tomorrow Emily is going sleep and nurse her twisted and knotted back from sleeping on the floor last night. Owwww... Perhaps I will take a nice warm bath.
I bought a Shirt at Planet exchange today, its vintage 70s/60s . Its purple and it has oriental ladies in kimonos. I also bought some metallic vinyl blue pants at Goodies, because the price was right.

Errr....what to do? Now I am going to go read. Adios

Thank you Steelsings...

~sigh~
I am so happy. Content. A million words couldn't describe the joy I am feeling right now.
For those of you who don't follow my Steelsings circle, My favorite Author, Tamora Pierce, has just visited my fan site. Her words have touched my heart, and they bring tears to my eyes at this moment. I think only one person in the "outside" world knows how much this website means to me. This is not something I do because I don't have anything better to do. This is a big part of my life, and not everyone understands it. I don't treat this as just a thing that I do when I'm bored or lonely--- And no, I don't need a social life. If I had all the friends and lovers in the world, I would still be here, because I love what Steelsings has become.
Not many people can understand "my online friends." I mean, these days the media only report on the atrocities that happen over the internet, the "stalkers." People ask me, "do you really know who these people are? It could all be lies. People are not who they say they are." But its not like that. You just -know-. If you have to explain it, they will never understand it. It is a feeling that you have to learn for yourself.
But a visit from Tammy always gives me inspiration. You all will recall that I said I wanted to revive Steelsings at the time of Tammy's first visit. We have done it guys! We have! It just creeped up on us, but Steelsings has grown by leaps and bounds.
Thanks to alot of people who's love for Steelsings has kept us pushing through, who have kept us typing, imagining, dreaming, and not stopping until we got what we wanted.

here's the note that Tammy left on the Fantasy/News Board

"Hi, all! Having wandered haplessly through the ex-board labyrinth and the pop-up adverts, I am here with tidings: Tim and I just uploaded a massive webpage upgrade in almost all areas--the only things I didn't touch were pronunciations and fan links. I'm only going to do one more fanpage link page, over the summer--there are just so many coming in that I stopped being able to keep up more than a year ago. It's just taken me that long to admit defeat.

Steelsings folk need not worry. I moved your URL to the general links page, because in my opinion, this site is more semi-professional in its membership, materials, and design, and you have topics not completely devoted to my stuff. Steelsings will stay a regular link among the general ones like those with my publishers and writing friends. I guess I'm trying to say I think this page is very, very cool, and I am honored that I provide some of the inspiration."
---Tammy
